Why your personal story is so important
First, we’re going to talk about why using your personal story is so incredibly important. And then, we’re going to share with you ways that you can solve multiple problems for your customers, if you do this properly.
Let’s talk about your personal story. This is what’s going to differentiate you from everybody else out there that does something similar to what you do. This is what’s going to allow your audience to actually connect with you, and want to learn more about you. And to take that a step further, it’s also going to help them figure out who to do business with, which is a huge value to them.
In this day and age, there is so much competition out there. There are so many companies that offer the same, or very similar, products or services. And it’s very difficult for a consumer to make a purchasing decision.
So, when you share your personal story, information about who you are, what you do, what makes you or your company or brand different. you have the potential to solve three problems for your customer:
First, is the original problem that they came in with that your product or your service is the solution for.
Second, is the problem of who do I hire? Who do I trust to handle or solve this problem for me?
The third problem, which can be an even bigger problem is: if they don’t choose correctly, meaning if you haven’t given them the information to help them really feel good about and understand why they should choose your company (for example, if you haven’t done your Brand Story Video well), then they might choose the wrong service provider, somebody who really can’t help them, or who doesn’t resonate or connect with their values.
If they do that, then they have an even bigger problem, which is they’ve wasted time and money on the wrong solution. And now they’re left worse off than they were when they started. Because now, not only do they not have their original problem solved, but they have another problem, where they’ve wasted all their time and money, and they still don’t have the original problem fixed.
