Online Course/Program Videos Process Overview

Congratulations again on making the commitment to have your Online Course/Program Videos produced, filmed, and edited by Geffner Productions!

In case you are someone who needs to understand the “big picture” of what this process entails, below is a general overview of all the information we are going to be covering with you in the coming weeks, as we prepare for your upcoming day of filming.

The good news is you don’t need to worry about all of this information at one time. We are going to take it step-by-step, so that we can eliminate as much of the overwhelm as possible.

If you are someone who enjoys knowing and being aware of EVERYTHING that will need to get done in order to fully prepare, then this overview page was made for you.

Below you’ll find a separate section describing each of the main categories that we’ll be discussing during the pre-production process. Each category has its own page which lays out in full detail everything you need to know. There is a lot of useful information included here, and we will also be available to guide you every step of the way, and to answer any questions you have as they come up.

YOUR FILMING DATE:

We may or may not have already scheduled a filming date in the production calendar to film your Online Course/Program Videos. If we haven’t scheduled a date yet, then that is something that we should do ASAP. This is a very important first step, as there is nothing like having an upcoming date in the calendar to keep you accountable to getting the prep work done!

Please click the link below for more information about your filming date, including how long in advance to schedule, what to expect on your day of filming, how long it takes to edit your videos after we’ve filmed, and our filming date postponement policy.

We have also included information about makeup and hair on your day of filming, as well as a general overview of the schedule for your day of filming.

ONLINE COURSE/PROGRAM VIDEO OPTIONS:

There are several different ways that you can go about delivering your content. The most important thing to consider before you start creating your course content, and before we start planning your filming day, is to figure out exactly how you’re going to deliver the information to the customers who purchase your online course or program.

ONLINE COURSE/PROGRAM MARKETING VIDEOS:

It does you no good to spend time creating an awesome product if nobody is aware of it, or nobody feels compelled enough to purchase it once they do find out about it. Don’t forget to put as much time into thinking about how you’re going to MARKET your products and services online as you do into creating the actual products and services that you want to sell.

YOUR FILMING LOCATION(S):

Finding a location for your video shoot may be really easy, or it could be a bit of a challenge. In general, we will need an indoor space that is private, quiet, and where we can control the elements as much as possible.

Please click on the link below to access our location search page. This page goes into detail about exactly what we are looking for, and provides a bunch of great ideas for how to find the right locations, as well as some ready-to-go location options that other clients of ours have used in the past.

Most of our clients who are local to Southern California (Orange County, Los Angeles, San Diego) either use their own home or office space, or borrow a friend or family member’s home or office. However, if a suitable location is not readily available to you, then we’ve provided a whole list of ideas for how to find the perfect spot.

WARDROBE:

One of the most common questions we get asked when preparing for a video shoot is: “what should I wear?”

That’s a great question, and we (of course) have a list of dos and don’ts when it comes to on-camera wardrobe.

We also want to forewarn you that you may want to wear several different outfits or “looks” for your video shoot, depending on how many videos we will be filming.
